What is a delegation?
A delegation is a formal authority or power to do something - approve expenditure, approve leave, sign a contract, maintain good order on campus, sign tenancy agreements, appoint staff, and the like.
Delegations are assigned to positions and staff appointed to these positions hold the specified delegations.
The delegations assigned must be signed off not only by the Principal Delegate (the Director) but also by the incumbent staff member who, in doing so, accepts the assigned delegations.
